I've gotten feedback from my significant other, who is a millennial pink Away suitcase carrying member of our tribe, that these posts can be a little salty.
To some extent, I agree. Our generation is known for projecting unbridled positivity. Anything short of that probably seems a little salty.
But I think a little in-group deprecation is healthy. That’s not to mean cynical. I found myself on a pilgrimage to South East Asia and drink overpriced coffee like the rest of us.
This brand of salt is inclusive of our millennial identity. It retains an aspirational quality.
You can use Pink Himalayan salt anywhere you would have used ordinary table salt. Chemical differences are negligible at best. But you feel a bit better about it.
My point is that it’s possible to be a little more grounded, without sacrificing what makes us millennials.
In a world fraught with disease, injustice, and financial crisis, we can keep fighting the good fight, to the beat of pineapple house.
